Yoga is the perfect tool for this transitional age. Classes for pre-teens and young teens are geared to promote healthy lifestyles, foster self-esteem and empower these socially active youth.

Keeping yoga as a fun activity by stimulating many learning styles but recognizing that as they grow-up their needs and abilities have changed so providing more time for quiet breathing and working more on pose alignment and technique.

Who:
Sessions are geared for grades 5 - 9. One class session is preferred (approx. 25 children) although double classes can be accomodated.

Where:
Yoga sessions can be held in any open area; the gym, a classroom with desks moved to provide space, or even outside.

Length of time:
30 - 60 minute classes

Sessions can be booked for a 1 - 2 week physical education unit or on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis to encourage growth and reinforce healthy life skills.

Equipment:
Comfortable clothing is recommended with bare feet and yoga mats are provided. Yoga blocks and straps may also be used and will be provided.
